Emerson Academy Therapeutic School
In partnership with the St. Louis City Board of Education, Emerson Academy offers an alternative educational setting for students with behavioral disorders and learning disabilities in grades K-12.
The mission of Emerson Academy is to use proven models of behavior management and therapeutic programming to create an environment for emotionally and learning disabled children that are unable to be successful in a regular school setting. The Academy has an environment that will foster self-awareness, self-esteem, and academic skills. Emerson works with its students and their families to inform, educate, and support them. Its ultimate goal is to return a successful student with supportive and functioning family, back to his/her home school district.
Emerson Academy offers individual educational plans, Alpha Smart technology, wellness nutrition awareness, Read 180 Program, computer instruction, small class instruction with certified special education teachers, therapeutic intervention, Spanish classes, and more.
